Located in a boreal setting on the shores of Lake Matagami, three wooden cabins and two yurts will allow you to escape the urban frenzy and indulge in revitalizing activities.
On the program: Nordic bath and sauna, bonfire on the beach, hiking, canoeing and exploring the boreal region.
Our 3 chalets (16 by 24 feet) and 2 yurts 24 feet in diameter offer a capacity of 24 people and are powered by solar energy. Close to the city of Matagami, and at the gateway to James Bay, list in the essentials of James Bay, and less far than Gaspé compared to a trip from Montreal.
The Eeyou istchee James Bay region offers one of the greatest potentials for sustainable tourism development. 6 buildings are present on the site, 3 chalets, 2 yurts and the solar building were built in 2007: it was the first ecolodge in Canada, respecting the principles of sustainable development.
The energy building houses a renewable energy system comprising 28 solar panels, a bank of gel batteries as well as a 5000 watt power converter. We can thus supply all the units with electricity (lighting, water pump and electric fridge in all units.
